The festive launch of SY11 took place at the Roman Theatre of Plovdiv on August 25, 2020, with an acclaimed gala concert on the occasion of the Opera Open Festival and starring Sonya Yoncheva, tenor Marin Yonchev, the young bass Bojidar Bojkilov, the Orchestra of the Plovdiv State Opera and conductor Nayden Todorov.
The sold out concert took place at the amazing Roman Theatre, built in the second Century BC and featured arias from Aida, Il trovatore, La traviata, Carmen, Rusalka, Madama Butterfly, La Wally, Don Carlo, as well as pieces by Bernstein, Stupel and Staikov.
